Dr. Gandhi was India’s first preventive cardiologist. Her journey in this area began with the founding of Institute of Preventive Cardiology (IPC) in Mumbai, India, in 1999. IPC is India’s pioneering evidence-based chain of Preventive Cardiac Care centers. Under her leadership, IPC centers have treated over 100,000 cases, with a 95% success rate.
In 2016, the International Association of Cardiologists, New York, USA, recognized Dr. Pratiksha Gandhi as ‘The Leading Physician of the World’.
She was recipient of ‘Top 50 Global Woman Healthcare Leader’award in March, 2017.
Dr. Pratikshahas launched new and innovative products & devices in the preventive healthcare industry. She is a speaker, has written books and created TV shows.
Dr, Gandhi is also trained and certified in naturopathy and alternative medicine.
Dr. Pratiksha is very well-versed in the field of nutrition and a big advocate of a plant-based diet.
She is a trained and experienced Yoga & Meditation practitioner and teacher. Shehas developed and taught scientific-evidence-based Yoga for heart disease prevention and care. She includes yoga and meditation as part of her patients’ therapy.
Dr Gandhi’s experience with developing and teaching a scientific-evidence-based Yoga-way-of-life for preventing and reversing heart disease, and Shiv Vinay Pandey’s yogic expertise has been a promising combination, bringing valuable routines for patients of heart disease.

After working as a post-doctoral fellow at the Texas A& M University and University of Minnesota, he joined department of Pharmacology as an NIH fellow to get training in toxicology. He has been with the University of Minnesota Medical School for over 34 years. He is a naturalized US citizen and a tenured professor in the department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology. He also has faculty appointments in Anesthesiology, Lillehei Heart Institute, and Biomedical Engineering Institute. He was the visiting Professor in the Royal College of Surgeons, England in the summer of 1987, Department of Surgery King’s College in 1988 and in the Thrombosis Research Institute, London in 1989. He also served as senior consultant to the Government of India, for three successive years (1990-93), under a United Nations program called TOKTEN. He also served as a visiting professor in the Institute of Human Physiology, University of Padua, Italy during 1995-96. He started a society (South Asian Society on Atherosclerosis and Thrombosis, SASAT) to create awareness on vascular diseases in 1993. Since then he is organizing international symposiums on Atherosclerosis and Thrombosis in India, every other year. SASAT is headquartered at Medanta Hospital, Division of Clinical and Preventive Cardiology (www.sasato.org) Under the aegis of SASAT 10 books have been published on topics related to cardiometabolic diseases. Furthermore, a journal (J. Clin & Preventive Cardiology) is published from the division of Cardiology, Medanta Hospital, Gurugram, Haryana, India.
