Overview

Exercise is an important part of cardiac rehabilitation. Besides yoga and a few other exercise disciplines, walking is very beneficial to most patients of heart disease. It is imperative that it be done in a manner that is compatible with the individual patient’s particular health circumstance. A walking/cardiovascular program must be initiated only after consultation with one’s doctor.
EXERCISE COULD BE CONTRAINDICATED FOR SOME
SERIOUS CASES.

One must always start exercise slowly.

Benefits of Walking:
Decreases the resting heart rate
Tones up muscles and builds muscle mass
Decreases body fat and cholesterol
Facilitates collateral blood circulation
Decreases blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes
